About Us

Diana Jacobs-Komisar is a grant writer and consultant partnering with organizations across sectors. She helps visionary leaders doing important work in their communities actualize their missions and maximize their impact in partnership with foundations, corporations, and government grantmakers.

Over more than 18 years of experience, Diana has brought in millions in grant contributions fueling life-changing work in the arts, education, and social justice fields, among others.

With expertise in writing, editing, prospect research, strategy, planning, and project management, Diana works with organizations to grow their grant portfolios, secure game-changing funding, and cultivate strong communities of institutional support.

With the exception of high school stints at a pizza place and a bookstore, Diana has been privileged to spend her entire career working with nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as Director of Foundation Relations for Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), leading an $8M foundations program supporting services to unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children worldwide. Prior to KIND, Diana was Institutional Giving Manager at the Huntington Theatre in Boston, where she ran all things grants for the company’s annual fund and comprehensive campaign and was a founding member of the Huntington Equity and Anti-Racism (HEAR) Task Force. Diana also served as Development Manager for Mayyim Hayyim Community Mikveh in Boston and Cultural Arts Manager at the Jewish Community Center of Greater New Haven. She got her start in grants as Development Associate of Jerusalem Peacemakers, an interfaith religious peacebuilding organization, and as a grant writer with Laurie Heller and Associates, helping nonprofits serving marginalized communities across Israeli society.

Diana has an MFA in Theatre Management from the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University and a BA in International and Intercultural Studies from Goucher College. She lives in her hometown of Baltimore, MD with her husband and four children.
